Jessica is junior at GCC, majoring in Spanish K-12 Education. She loves the education community and event planning, so she is super excited to work on the organization committee for #edcampgcc. When not studying or writing lesson plans, Jess can be found playing the violin, catching up with friends, or watching foreign films. She sincerely hopes that you have a great time at #edcampgcc!
Mollie is a senior Middle Level Math/English Education major at Grove City College. Her goal is to be a life-long learner who empowers students to do meaningful, exciting things with their learning in all aspects of life. She is thankful to have helped plan last year's #edcampGCC and is excited for the opportunity to learn alongside more professionals this year. "We're glad you're here!"
Katy is a senior Middle Level Math/Science Education major at Grove City College. She assisted #edcampGCC last year for the first edcamp, and was one of the key speakers. She is currently doing an independent study in STEAM education, and is going to be student teaching in the spring semester. Katy is always excited about growing and learning in education. Other activities she enjoys is spending time with family, traveling to new places, loves coffee, and playing softball occasionally. Katy is excited to meet new educators of impact, and welcomes you to the second annual #edcampGCC.
Sydney is a sophomore Elementary and Special Education major at Grove City College. She is passionate it about learning as much as she can to become an effective teacher of impact! She is excited to have the opportunity to learn along with all of the #edcampgcc attendees. Outside of the classroom, Sydney enjoys painting, making blankets for at risk children, and going to the Pittsburgh Penguins games.
Joelee is a sophomore Special Education and Elementary Education major at Grove City College. She attended GCC’s first #edcampgcc during her freshman year and is excited to be helping behind the scenes this year. When Joelee is not busy working on college assignments and lesson plans, she likes to spend her time watching Netflix, hanging out with friends, and spending way too much time on Twitter. She can’t wait to collaborate with other educators during this year’s Ed Camp!
Becki is a junior at Grove City studying elementary and special education. She is excited to have her own classroom in the near future, and is looking forward to #edcampGCC because she will have the chance to learn from other educators! Outside of her classes, she enjoys backpacking, spending time with friends, writing letters, and playing with her dog, Jessie. Welcome to Edcamp!
Jenna is a sophomore English Secondary Education major at Grove City College. She fell in love with developing her PLN through Twitter and looks forward to making even more connections at #edcampGCC this year! When she’s not doing class-related work, Jenna enjoys watching BBC and PBS shows like Sherlock and Mercy Street, and she also loves going on adventures with her friends. Mack is a Sophomore Elementary and Special Education Major at Grove City College. They had a blast at #edcampgcc last year and couldn’t wait for a chance to help out this year! Other than working on coursework, Mack works on GCC chapel staff, is Dr. Fecich’s student worker, writes poetry, and spends time with friends. Mack is so glad that everyone made it to this year’s #edcampgcc and they hope you have a fantastic time!
Hi I am Shane Mills! I am a high school math teacher at Sewickley Academy. I have been teaching advanced math for the past 5 years and I am currently working on my doctorate in STEM education.
This is Dr. Fecich's third year at Grove City College and her second time as a lead learner with #Edcampgcc. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and just welcomed a new member to the family in October, a baby girl named Summer. When Dr. Fecich is not reading books about best practices, changing diapers, or making her favorite chocolate truffles she is usually watching a show Netflix and relaxing with her husband, Josh. Dr. Fecich can't wait to see you at this year's #Edcampgcc and encourages you to think outside the bun!
Nicole Butler has been teaching in Pennsylvania for 9 years in a true middle school setting. She is a STEM advocate and for the first time - lead her middle school team to the Best BEST Middle School award for BEST Robotics in October 2016. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication from Robert Morris University in 1995 and her Masters in Business Education in 2008. In addition, she received a Pennsylvania Certification in Instructional Technology from Temple University in 2014. Nicole never stops learning!
